Tillett for Connecticut blog posting thoughts, questions, information and items of interest for discussion especially people in the 2nd CT State Senate District (cities of Hartford, Bloomfield and Windsor)
I originally wrote this post in 2016 have you noticed any changes to speak of in CT Politics? Have the RTCs dedicated themselves towards actually doing some things differently? Maybe even starting with the leadership of those RTCs due to needing to update the local party with new ideas? Have the campaigns started working TOGETHER instead of only working with "the sure winner" as an attempt to grow the party in CT like is being done in other parts of the country? Below is a copy and paste of what I originally wrote in 2016...
^*^*^*^*^*^ From 2016 Post ^*^*^*^*^
It is true there are too many UnContested Races in CT's General Assembly this year & in years past & if things do not change this will be the future as well... The July 21st article in the Hartford Courant http://www.courant.com/opinion/op-ed/hc-ed-too-many-ct-seats-uncontested-0721-20160720-story.html points out that "due to apathy" & "lack of leadership" seats are going uncontested during a year when there should be not only full ballots but also high voter turnout since it is a presidential election year Copied & pasted from the article "What a shame, then, that more than 25 percent of the House seats will go unchallenged by a major-party candidate, along with four seats in the Senate." & also this from the article " 16 Democrats will run unopposed by a Republican, nearly all of them incumbents, according to preliminary information from the secretary of the state's office. " Shame on the local party leadership for not running full tickets; but also shame on the cities & towns people that have not stepped up to run for office. "We the People" means that each citizen has a responsibility to take some small part in running the country; That means not just showing up once every couple of years to vote a party line without knowing what the issues are but attending town & even state level meetings at the town halls & state capitol. What are You going to do to change the "defeatist" attitude that is running rampant in our state? What are You going to do to help #FlipTheGeneralAssembly ?
How does it affect you, your family and you business?
It sounds a little "Tin Foil Hatter", U.N. Agenda 21 but check it out for yourself after you watch this video....
I know when I first heard about it the person who was trying to explain it to me didn't exactly the best job in what it was nor how it could possibly affect me and my family...
Now more than 20 years later I see what's going on and even have seen with my own eyes that the town which I live in has signed on to this destructive agenda.
Planning and Zoning meetings might not seem important to you; but this is one of many places where if you either watch online or attend the meetings you'll be able to find out first hand where and how U.N. Agenda 21/2030 items are being forced upon property and business owners making our lives a whole lot more expensive while stifling our freedoms.
Next week will be the start of the Kwanzaa celebration which starts on Dec 26th. Kwanzaa is an African-American holiday that is celebrated during the week after Christmas ending on New Years Day in many African-American communities. It has been more of a Community Celebration than a Private Family Celebration for the majority of people that our family has known in these modern times. A time of reflection & respecting our elders & enjoying our neighbors, community members, friends, blood family our wider circle of unrelated but we consider them to be family. The intent of the celebration is to encourage & instill positive values from the elders to the younger generations as well as foster a sense of belonging in the community. Many community celebrations have a marketplace area to not only buy items but additionally connect people with community services that they may have been unaware of. Have you been to a Community Kwanzaa Celebration in your area? The video below explains some of the history of Kwanzaa

Maybe even starting with the leadership of those RTCs; is there stagnation or a general malaise due to needing to update the local party with new ideas? Below is what I originally wrote in 2016... are things improving as we look ahead to next week and next year?

Enjoy this short little video I made last year Be Safe while you go out to Trick or Treat & have your Halloween Fun - Remember to: Wear light colors & bring flashlights so you can see & be seen Walk on the sidewalks not in the streets Try to go out in groups together Never Go Inside the House of a stranger Wait to eat the treats until you get home & are able to check the wrappers for tampering in the full light - sadly there are people out there who have tampered with the candy in years past
History is repeating itself with the #DemocratsRaisingTaxesAgain
Our families are struggling... but they just do not seem to care how much our families are hurting... They have their cushie benefits they do not care about our families Their political crony friends push out fear mongering half truths and outright lies about the balanced budget that the governor vetoed... Call the elected officials and tell them #NoNewTaxes #FixCT
The history books are being rewritten about what happened & speculate on the reasons why.
The day is marked by fewer "Specials" on tv that celebrate the heroes that both lived & died that terrible day. Are we already starting to forget what happened?
How soon will the day become forgotten as if it's ancient history?
When that happens will there be those who will start denying that it ever occurred?
Our students are not being taught about the holocaust because the history books are being rewritten How can our young people learn proper history if the books are leaving out the important details? Why is political correctness & hurt feelings getting in the way of true history because there are those who are denying that the holocaust ever happened?
I've highlighted in Bold & Yellow the outrageous cuts that Malloy has in store for our families.
Urgent Action on your part is required: You need to Call the office of the governor and tell him that what he is planning is not acceptable and tell him to #StopHurtingFamilies
Once again this is an attack on our poor working families in CT! While the budget protects the cronies who got him elected; our families, our veterans, our seniors, our children are all under attack in this plan! Our most vulnerable who can't afford to send lots of money to the democrat election coffers are being attacked by these DANGEROUS Cuts.!
Malloy is STEALING Our Taxes to pay off his Special Interest Groups and keep the special projects that benefit his crony friends! Malloy is clearly showing that he
Does NOT CARE ABOUT OUR FAMILIES!!
Another example of just how devoid of empathy and out of touch these democrats are in CT and across the land.

But while Malloy's plan protects his big union allies, it leaves the rest of Connecticut out to dry, making massive cuts to education funding, law enforcement, much needed aid for cities and towns across the state, and even ethics funding despite having himself been the subject of an investigation. Here are just some of the main items for the most recent item of Dan Malloy's catastrophic agenda for Connecticut:
> $7.4 million in cuts to Care4Kids TANF/CCDF
> $14,804,521 in cuts to Temporary Family Assistance
> $175,523 in cuts to the Election Enforcement Commission
> $15,698 in cuts to the Office of State Ethics (B-9)
> Eliminates property tax relief for veterans
> $3,324,998 in cuts to the Division of Criminal Justice
> Eliminates funding for Connecticut's Youth Employment Program and Opportunities for Long Term Unemployed
> Eliminates funding for the Office of Protection and Advocacy for Persons with Disabilities
> Eliminates Department of Social Services funding for Protective Services for the Elderly
> Cuts $515,833,717 in Department of Education funding for Education Equalization Grants
> Cuts $1,212,066 in Department of Education funding for the American School for the Deaf
> Cuts $42,337,171 in Department of Education funding for priority school districts
> Cuts $28,701,582 in funding for the University of Connecticut
> Cuts $14,774,971 in funding for the University of Connecticut Health Center > Adds $278,267,000 in retirement contributions for the Teacher's Retirement Board
> Increases spending on debt service by $304,937,812
> Keeps $293,577,508 in reserve for salary adjustments

I wanted to share this video of a very talented young man who is right here in our 2nd District & who I had the pleasure to meet while out on the campaign trail this year... He's going places so keep an eye on him & please share his video
Call your elected officials at the state capitol this week
Tell them to Work on Balancing the Budget by making the cuts that are needed instead of cutting services that help our families.
Now is the time for our elected officials to get to work towards starting the much needed downsizing of our government.
They can start by cutting the extra expenses that they have forced us to pay for like big cuts to the CEP Program.
The CEP aka Citizens Election Program gives taxpayer money to the candidates that have "qualified" by raising certain levels of money. The amount varies by race & party but the amounts are in the hundreds of thousands of dollars for state senate & state rep positions & in the millions for the statewide races.
That money can be better spent making certain that we have the needed services for the families that are needed to meet Basic Needs.
There is a serious problem going on down at Hartford's Town Hall
There are many commissions that do not have the full number of people that are mandated to have citizens of Hartford sitting on them.
When the new mayor took over he forced out prior to having replacements many of the republican commissioners. #BrokeBronin basically got rid of anyone who might oppose the plans that he & his wife have for Hartford taxpayers.
Meanwhile the citizens of Hartford are in fact suffering while the commissions like the Civilian Police Review Board do not meet in a Proper & Timely Manner
Below is a report by Rachel Baird of a recent trip to Hartford only to discover that the Commission Meeting had been cancelled because ONE person on the board was sick & unable to attend.
There are supposed to be 9 people on the board with a minimum of FIVE (5) people in attendance but ONLY 5 people are currently sitting on the board! There are FOUR (4) Missing Commissioners because #BrokeBronin is refusing to allow the correct number of people to be appointed on to it!
Are the people living in Hartford aware of this problem?
If they are why are they not demanding that these seats be filled with people from the community?
Have they been demanding that these seats be filled only to fall on the deaf ears of the mayor & his wife?
Where are the former commission members from all of the commissions that were removed & until their replacements are properly installed they need to be back in place this is why there is so much corruption going on in city hall, there is intentional dysfunction of the process.
Just a reminder of what is happening in our government at both the town level & state... CT Our Water is about to be Stolen. Men & Women have conspired to give our water away at bargain basement prices to a corporation while raising our rates & risking running our wells dry. #HadEnough ?
Although this video was made by a Jewish man speaking to his fellow Jews, I think this is a video which everyone must watch While watching ask yourselves who are YOU listening to & have you actually done any research on the issues or the man?
