The Story Of Kwanzaa: From Civil Rights To Corporate America

Next week will be the start of the Kwanzaa celebration which starts on Dec 26th. Kwanzaa is an African-American holiday that is celebrated during the week after Christmas ending on New Years Day in many African-American communities.

It has been more of a Community Celebration than a Private Family Celebration for the majority of people that our family has known in these modern times. A time of reflection & respecting our elders & enjoying  our neighbors, community members, friends, blood family our wider circle of unrelated but we consider them to be family. 

The intent of the celebration is to encourage & instill positive values from the elders to the younger generations as well as foster a sense of belonging in the community. Many community celebrations have a marketplace area to not only buy items but additionally connect people with community services that they may have been unaware of.

The history books are being rewritten about what happened & speculate on the reasons why.

The day is marked by fewer "Specials" on tv that celebrate the heroes that both lived & died that terrible day. Are we already starting to forget what happened?

How soon will the day become forgotten as if it's ancient history? 

When that happens will there be those who will start denying that it ever occurred? 

Our students are not being taught about the holocaust because the history books are being rewritten How can our young people learn proper history if the books are leaving out the important details? Why is political correctness & hurt feelings getting in the way of true history because there are those who are denying that the holocaust ever happened?

My ThrowBack Thursday as we head into the Independence Day Holiday Weekend;

  is this video from 2013. A year which had many long days of men & women of all races, religions, and income brackets going up to the state capitol to fight for our rights to protect our families. A year when many people started paying attention to politics for the first time and taking actions.

Henson Ong is a Legal Immigrant to America who has become an American citizen. Henson Ong testified at the Jan 28th 2013 Legislative Office Building  in Hartford CT.
At the public hearing he explains the history of guns and the Constitutional Right to Bear Arms.
Henson reminded us of historical events here and abroad and with lawsuit references reminds us that gun ownership has been upheld by numerous court rulings.

Gun ownership is both a right that is written as a reminder to the government in both the US & CT constitutions that the people have the right to defend themselves and their states but that right to self defense is an inalienable right...

To many of our school children in our modern day with the proper history of American and world history no longer being taught, the reason for the holiday is being forgotten.

There are too many children no longer having actual knowledge of what wars of our recent past have been like. With the older generations dying off with stories no longer being told about what it was like during those times.

As the "community memory" of our elders die off the reason we celebrate Memorial Day is becoming lost to only being the reason that the family gathers and has a BBQ after going out shopping the sales...

Dinesh Dsouza's Hillary's America Leaked

Have you seen the movie "Hillary's America" yet?

I went with a group of friends (one family of 4 included just graduated teens) to see the movie on Sunday opening weekend. It was very worth going to see it in the theater on the big screen not just with your conservative friends & family but show it to some of your teens & college aged young adults & your liberal family & friends. 

Dinesh Dsouza spoke during a break at the RNC at the InfoWars news studio & explains what the film is about.

The DVD will be released on October 11th, you can preorder it now at WalMart.com. Not certain if they'll be selling the video in the actual stores some of his videos & books they do & others they choose not to. 

If you pre-order it; have it sent to the store for pick up & maybe that will encourage them to have a supply in stock for the rest of the public to purchase too. I have never seen 2016 Obama's America in the local WalMarts but I was able to buy the dvd of his movie America. 
Hopefully this dvd will be in the stores so that it will be available to the general public.
